How to Move Into Senior Living in Denver
Moving into senior living in Denver takes four steps: name the care level, set the budget, tour a short list of communities that already fit both, then complete the nurse assessment and move in. A hospital discharge can happen in days. A planned move usually takes two to four weeks. Our help is free.

What are the steps to move into senior living in Denver?
These are the four steps we walk with every Denver family, in this order. Skipping the first two is what leads to tours that go nowhere.
- 1
Name the care level
Start with what the day actually looks like: medication help, bathing, transfers, wandering, or a hospital discharge order. The care level decides which Denver buildings can accept a move at all, so we sort this before anyone tours.
- 2
Set the budget honestly
Add income, savings, a long term care policy, VA Aid & Attendance, and any HCPF or EBD waiver eligibility. We tell you the real Denver monthly range for that care level before you fall in love with a building you cannot hold.
- 3
Tour a short list
We book three to five Denver communities that already confirmed both the care level and the budget, then walk them with you. You see staffing at shift change, not a sales lap.
- 4
Assess, sign, and move in
The community completes a nurse assessment, you review the agreement and the care plan, and we schedule the move. Our free Tuck-In gives you four hours of help on move-in day so the first night is calm.

How long does the move take?
Three timelines cover almost every Denver family who calls us. Find yours, and you will know what the next week looks like.
Hospital discharge, 2 to 5 days
The case manager sets the date. We work from the discharge paperwork, confirm which Denver buildings can accept that care level today, and tour within 48 hours.
Care is slipping now, 2 to 4 weeks
Enough time to compare three to five communities, negotiate the move-in date, and get the nurse assessment done without paying to hold a room you have not seen.
Planning ahead, 2 to 6 months
The calmest path. You tour without pressure, get on a waitlist for the buildings you actually liked, and sort finances and downsizing before a crisis chooses for you.

What does the move cost in Denver?
Denver metro pricing sits at or a little above these statewide ranges, and secured memory care sits highest because of staffing. Budget for a one time community fee too, usually one month of rent.

What paperwork should you gather first?
Gathering these early is the single biggest thing that shortens a Denver move. Communities cannot schedule an assessment without them.
- Photo ID, insurance cards, and the Medicare or Medicaid number
- Current medication list from the prescribing provider
- Recent hospital or physician records, plus a TB test result if the community requires one
- Medical power of attorney, financial power of attorney, and any advance directive
- Proof of income and assets if you are applying for an EBD waiver through HCPF
